I think this hot weather has melted my brain and made me dumb.
Here's an example, twice, while doing laundry, I forgot to start the dryer and went down an hour later to still wet clothes. I also left the lid open on the washer once, so it filled, but didn't run, and I had to wait another 30 minutes till I could start another load.
Another example, I wrote a blog post before we went to the camper for the holiday weekend and I forgot to post it (it's no longer relevant so it won't get posted). It was good, I was happy with it and now it's been junked, because it should have been posted last Friday.
The saying "you'd forget your head if it wasn't attached to your shoulders" TOTALLY describes me these days. I must find a cure for this new onset of ignorance. I'm thinking just don't leave the safety of my AC.

My Guest Post
I wrote a guest post for Hall of Fame Moms and it is today's post! GO CHECK IT OUT!! This is the first guest post I have done and am very excited that Tracey decided to use it. It's about the "baby binders" I make for my kids. I didn't have any pics for it before, so I decided to add some here.

Chunky in Theory
Will had an appointment with the pediatrician today. Since he was so far behind in weight and development at his 2 month check-up, she wanted to see him again at 3 months. She was very pleased with him. And said that whatever we are doing we should keep it up, because he is doing amazingly compared to how far behind he was just a month ago.
One of the main things she wanted to keep an eye on was his weight. We've been really concerned about it too. I was having a rough time forcing 2-3 oz of breast milk into him each feeding, and then 2 weeks ago I forgot to thaw some milk overnight and was forced to give him a bottle of formula. He finished 4oz with almost no effort at all! I decided to just switch him to formula and he now drinks 4-6 oz each feeding...which about doubles what he was taking in before!
Today he weighed in at a whopping 11lbs 10oz! That's a gain of a pound and a half since he saw Dr. Awesome 2 weeks ago! He is also within a few ounces of where Julianna was at the same age (hers adjusted of course). She was getting chunky by this time, so you would think he would be getting chunky too. I convince myself that he is getting little fat rolls in his thighs, but then something like putting him next to his cousin (who's just 3 weeks older) reminds me he's just chunky in theory.

Letters From Me
Dear Sleep,
Please be my friend tonight. Your friendship would mean so much to me.
Dear Part of the Brain That Causes Worry,
Could you please shut the heck up, even if just for a few hours. I could really use some time without you.

Dear Joe,
Please bring coffee in the morning. Lots and lots of coffee.
I love you, Lindsay
.
Dear God,
Please watch over my kiddos as they sleep and keep them safe in your loving arms.
Amen
Red, White & Green Cousins
Erin and I had another one of our "dress the kids alike and take pictures" sessions yesterday. This time all our girls had dresses that were meant to go together, but not completely match and the boys wore solid colored shirts. They didn't turn out quite like we wanted (we wanted outside pics, but the weather had other plans & it's hard to take pictures with 2 toddlers, 2 babies & a preschooler), but I still think they are adorable...how could they not be with such adorable kids as the subjects!

Erin would tickle the kids' feet to get them to smile and laugh.
The boys.

I'm Domestic
I am the 1950's June Cleaver type. I make a hot breakfast for my kids & hubby every morning(so what if most mornings it's frozen waffles & turkey bacon). There isn't a speck of dirt in my house by 10am every morning (there's a bazillion specks of dirt). I make all the beds every day (sometimes I straighten the blankets just before I go to bed at night). I bake yummy delicious treats and wear cute aprons when doing it! (this one's completely true!) I clip coupons and get groceries for practically nothing (I'm still working on this one). I have a garden and freeze veggies for the winter (I totally just mooch veggies from my in-laws' family garden). There is hardly ever any piles of dirty laundry in the house (mostly because Joe does the majority of the laundry...I think he actually likes doing laundry...and I put it away...there's lots of piles of clean laundry). There are lots of other wonderful SAHM things I do (almost).
My goal for this summer was to start doing all the things I had always dreamed I would do if I got to be a SAHM. I wanted to become more stay-at-home-momish. I guess it just takes baby steps. But I really am the 1950's June Cleaver type at heart.

Feels Like Summer
Clean house, open windows, the hum of a fan, blow up kiddie pool complete with 2 year old laughter, the smell of sunscreen, freshly mowed grass, egg salad sandwiches and lemonade, lazy afternoon napping...
today feels like summer.
